Explanation of the coding system

There are various ways of writing the tire code, the manufacturer can for example use the american or english system.
The most common system for us is the European system which looks like for example this: 185/70 R 13 82 S.
The explanation is:

185	- Width
70	- Height/width-ratio in %, here 70% of 185 mm
R	- Tire type: Radial, Diagonal, Belt
13	- Rim diameter i inch
82	- Max. load code
S	- Max. velocity code

Observe!

Remember: tires are like fresh food. Every tire is therefore marked with a production date, the so-called DOT-code. This consists of four digits: 0104 means for example that the tire was manufactured in january 2004.
Old tires, from 1999 and before, have a three-digit code; 128 means week 12, 1998.

4,5 : rim width in inch
j : code for the shape and height av rim edge
x : code for its shape
15 : diameter in inch
FH : code for the shape of the elevation in the rim (space for braking systems)
